My oft-delayed Crazy Horse Memorial Abomination blog post feels like at this point it’ll sadly never see the light of day – I promise Jamie and Claire, it’s coming, it really is! BUT given the fact that I actually sat down today and began writing what will be my next novel felt worthy of a unique blog post, not just some paragraph tucked into another as this is literally a literary gamechanger for me!
I’m quite proud of myself for mostly maintaining the publication of a new blog post every Tuesday, but taking on a new manuscript will most definitely force my blogging onto the backburner for a while. I wish I had more time to dedicate to my writing, but spending 50 hours a week at work truly limits my creative output, but it pays my bills, so it remains a necessary inspirational blockade.
I didn’t honestly anticipate beginning my next novel before next year, but after sharing with a couple of friends certain timely stories about the source of my inspiration for this new work, they seemed to think the time to be writing is now and I can’t help but to agree with them.
My outlook on this project is extremely positive. The last day for the Cutesville pool is this Saturday, which is the only place I want to be when I have a day off, so eliminating that distraction will be a blessing in this sense. Then in September I have two separate weeks where I’ll only be working four days, these two extra days should prove to be very beneficial!
My first book, Shithead, which like the aforementioned Crazy Horse Memorial Abomination blog post, I haven’t forgotten about, but I also haven’t had the time necessary to do the work needed to get it published, remains a priority to me. So then why you may ask am I leapfrogging that work and already onto writing my next novel? Well, because as you’ll hopefully soon learn, the time to be writing this particular story is indeed now, while it’s fresh and happening. I learned a lot through my journey with Shithead, but the most prominent piece of knowledge I gained is that some stories literally just write themselves, all they need is someone willing to share them and for the second time in my life, I’ve found myself blessed to be privy to such an occasion.
As always, THANK YOU so much for reading! I appreciate your continued support always, but especially as I take on this new literary endeavor! Please feel free to leave me a comment below as I LOVE reading and responding to them! I will return next week with the promised Crazy Horse Memorial Abomination blog, so until then, I wish you all, all the best!
I can’t wait!!!
