Colorado Day Four: Estes Park

Even after the night of frights we had on Colorado: Day Three, I still went back to that cute lil’ hotel room and fell right to sleep. Melissa said it took her much longer as she was nervous a ghost was going to pop out and terrorize her all night long, that never happened, but it didn’t stop her from believing it could for however many hours she laid there in suspense. It was sad for me to say goodbye to The Stanley as I fell hard in love with it, but we maximized our morning by touring all the grounds we hadn’t the day before. This only caused me to fall further in love. No doubt about it, one day, I’ll be back…!

I’m still so proud of how many different restrooms I saw across Colorado. What a treat it’s been sharing them all with you.
Someone could’ve easily hidden in here. As far as we know no one did.
The original keys of the hotel rooms. Cute!

Without my sunglasses I couldn’t see shit.

I cannot stress enough how brutal it was forgetting my sunglasses back in Cutesville!

Soon after a truly wonderful and engaging talk with the two ladies running the gift shop inside The Stanley, Melissa and I were making our way downtown Estes Park. They had the cutest lil’ mainstreet that ran parallel to the river and the shops on the river side often had an entrance from the mainstreet as well as from the riverwalk. It was truly enchanting. We found the scenery to be even more breathtaking than the altitude! I loved everything about it!

Contrary to what Alyssa believes, the Wild West theming in Colorado was abundant!
They really utilized the cuteness of rocks in Estes Park. A lively honeybee herself, Melissa had to have her picture taken with the “Bumblebee Crossing.”

We were both getting really exhausted from four days of nonstop adventure and yet we still had two hours till we needed to even think about getting on the road in route to the airport, so we went to the Estes Park Library to go in and take a lil’ break. While I sat there and prepared would ended up being Colorado: Day Three, Melissa got on her phone and found something absolutely incredible for us to do: The Estes Park Aerial Tramway!

The sign’s kinda washed out in the lighting, but it says “Ladybug Crossing.”
Loved this lil’ handwashing poem!

As you’ll soon see, our views of and from the aerial tram were truly unrivaled. I hadn’t seen beauty quite like this since we were atop Tantalus Lookout on Hawaii: Day Five. It was the perfect find and I’m ever so thankful we were able to have this amazing experience on such a short notice!

I can hear Céline Dion singing, “God Bless America!”

Well, that wraps up our four days in Colorado! THANK YOU so much for coming along on this lil’ vacation with us! We truly had THE BEST time! PLEASE feel free to leave a comment below! You know I LOVE reading and responding to them! I’ll return soon, but until then, I wish you all, all the best!

  1. Colorado never really was one of those places I felt like I really needed to revisit in my life, but your blogs about your trip have definitely piqued my interest. Somehow you always manage to find the cutest things to do that aren’t the mainstream tourism. Can’t wait for more blogs on your future trips!

    1. Okay, WOW! Thank you so much! I truly appreciate all this! I absolutely loved Colorado & hope one day to get back there & spend much more time than just four days! I feel like there’s so much to see & do there & a winter trip would given an even different experience, that’s another must for me!

  2. I really enjoyed reading about your Colorado adventures but especially your time in Estes. That place will always hold a special place in my heart. My grandfather was from Sterling CO and my grandparents would take us to Estes so many times throughout my childhood. Then while attending college in Ft. Collins, I was lucky to get a summer job in Estes. My boss was the local art teacher and owned a shop that sold Colorado artists work. She let me put some of my photographs in the store to sell. I only made $2.10/ hour but it didn’t matter, it was an experience I will always cherish. I rented an apartment in the back of the building that held the shop. I had no car and no phone, just my stereo and bike. The river you wrote about was 20 feet from my window and I could hear it at night. I still find the sound of mountain streams comforting and the smell of pine trees immediately takes my back to Colorado.
Thank you for the trip back there.

    1. You’re so very welcome! Thank you for joining me! We really hit up all your Colorado past then! Day One we went to Fort Collins to see Alyssa & Cody’s university! Perhaps it was once yours too! Amazing! I loved reading about these memories of yours from your time in Estes Park. I’m sure they were some of your best days & I love that. That river was a little slice of enchantment, so I can definitely understand your love for mountain streams. It certainly was melodic & serene.

  3. Looks like a perfect trip! I would have been just like Melissa and been way too scared to sleep after that tour. The hotel looks gorgeous though and I have to add it to the places I want to visit! Thanks for sharing all of your adventures 😃

    1. Thank you for viewing all my adventures! Yes, the hotel was superb & we had THE BEST time there even if one of us couldn’t rest as well as the other! 😂
