Casey, Illinois: A Small Town Full of BIG Things

A day trip to Casey, Illinois has been on my bucket list ever since I first heard about this town back when I was still living out in California! Well, while it may have taken me about six years, I finally made it and suffice it to say, Melissa and I had THE BEST time! So, come along with me on this photographic journey and explore this small town through my larger than life pictures…

Our first stop was Richard’s Farm Restaurant. This 1930’s themed farm to table restaurant was as delicious for my stomach as it was for my eyes because let me tell you all what, this place was cute!
Inside the restaurant.
I realize the last picture was of the ladies restroom door, but I took this inside the men’s room. It was super cute and farmy inside. I just loved it.
Our lunch was delectable (so good I ate it as soon as she dropped it, completely forgetting to take a photo), but this place probably was best after 4:00 when all the evening options became available because WOW! Some of their steaks and such sounded just about perfect!

I thought this wagon was just adorable, so I had to get out on the street and capture it with the World’s Largest Pitchfork behind it!
Melissa in the garden.
Ben on a bridge.
Lily Pads are some of my favorites and I was thrilled to see them here. They’re just the best.
“Licking her lips and blowing kisses my way…”
Surrounded by my favorite color, orange.
10/10. Highly Recommend.

The World’s Largest Pencil just across the street from the World’s Largest Mailbox!
This birdcage was definitely giving Miley Cyrus, “Can’t Be Tamed” music video vibes.
This cute lil’ bench and wall was inside a store downtown. I just loved it.
World’s Largest Barber’s Pole!
Taken inside the Casey Coffee Co.. My “Lava” Drink was the hot item on the menu, but kept me cool on a day when it was 98º and rising outside!
We all know I love to write!
World’s Largest Rocking Chair!
“And that makes her Larger Than Life!”
World’s Largest Wind Chimes!
World’s Largest Ruler!
World’s Largest Taco!
World’s Largest Key!
World’s Largest Book Worm!
World’s Largest Golf Tee!
World’s Largest Golf Club!
World’s Largest Mousetrap!
A cute lil’ caboose outside the candy shop.
World’s Largest Knitting Needles!
They had a handful of cute murals downtown, this one was my favorite.

Casey is quite a small town at just over 2,400 residents, but as you’ve just seen, there’s plenty to do and see in this small town full of BIG things! Their downtown was vibrant and featured several small shops and restaurants that we loved entering and exploring to escape the summer heat. Casey is about 120 miles from Cutesville and the drive along I-70 takes just under two hours, but I promise you, it’s totally worth it!

The ONLY thing I would’ve done differently had I of known is Casey is known as “the city of lights” and their downtown and historic neighborhoods were full of these cute old looking lamp posts and I really wish we could’ve seen all the BIG things and the city lit up at night. When I go back I’ll be sure to head there later in the day, so I see it during both the daylit and lamplit hours.

Well, as always, THANK YOU so much for viewing! Your support means the world to me! Please feel free to leave me a comment below as I love reading and responding to them! I’ll return next week with another all-new post, so until then, I wish you all, all the best in your weekly endeavors!
