Not surprisingly, we spent our sixth anniversary in Walt Disney World. Surprisingly, we were supposed to spend it in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Not surprisingly, we were headed to Tulsa to see the Queen of Pop: Madonna.
As you may have heard, Madonna was hospitalized in June and as a result, had to postpone the North American leg of her extensive Celebration World Tour. Given that we’ll eventually wind up in Tulsa to see her at the rescheduled date, we decided to head to one of the two places in this world we could go to deaf, mute, and blind and still navigate with no problems. (The other place obviously being Disneyland Resort.) What can I say, we’re proud Disney adults.
Now sit back and scroll through this collection of photos and details highlighting our extraordinary resort and spectacularly special first full day…!
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort is an equestrian-themed, Victorian-style resort hotel inspired by historic Saratoga Springs, a late 1800s’ New York retreat famous for its spas and horse racing. We’d never stayed there before, but would absolutely do so again. I loved it!
The resort lobby featured wall-sized photos of some of Disney’s most beloved equines. This was a really cute feature that I super enjoyed seeing.
Following a relaxing and reserved day around our resort, we set off for Disney Springs, Disney’s expansive shopping, dining, and entertainment district. They have just about every store one could hope for there (minus Polo Ralph Lauren, but my wallet was thankful for this omission) and the theming there is every bit as phenomenal as that at any of their parks! We love it!
This day led up to the most wonderful evening! We got to see our dear friend, Edward! As you may recall from various past posts, Edward and I worked together at Macy’s in Escondido, California and he now lives near Orlando. I could write all day praising Edward and it still wouldn’t be enough! His hospitality is second to none and his willingness to go above and beyond for his friends is something no one else can match. He’s jubilant and kind and the type of person who always keeps a smile on your face. As far as friends go, he’s simply the best! I never come to Walt Disney World without making sure to see my friend, it just wouldn’t be a trip without him, so here’s a handful of my favorite photos from that incredible evening!
Prepare to see one of these “100” photos in the next several posts because we took one at every park! Disney is celebrating its 100th anniversary as a company and we were most definitely there for all the magical festivities!
A special THANK YOU to Edward for an outstanding evening! Dinner was perfect, the gifts were the best, and the company was even better! Each time we see you my friend is more memorable and magical than the last, so again, thank you!
As always, THANK YOU so much for viewing! I appreciate you greatly! Feel free to leave a comment below as I love reading and responding to them! I’ll return with Day Two super soon – it’s one of my favorites! Kamber arrives and we explore Disney’s Animal Kingdom – so until then, I wish you all, all the best!
