Hawaii Day One: St. Louis to Honolulu

ALOHA!!! These photos are from Day One of our vacation to and in Honolulu, Hawaii! I CANNOT BELIEVE I’M ACTUALLY HERE IN PARADISE! ENJOY!

Leaving St. Louis!

Some downtown views from our taxi ride to the hotel!
Part of our hotel’s lobby!
Slumped.
Me, Maerick, and Charlie (the birthday girl!)
Kaell joined in, but opted to watch the television rather than the camera.
Our hotel.
Love this. These stones were in the sidewalk downtown. Made me happy.
Alternate shot of our hotel lobby!

By my own admittance, these pictures were mediocre at best. I felt sick AF yesterday and by the time we arrived to our hotel, Melissa and I had been awake for nearly twenty-four hours and that was just too much. I was light-headed and irritable the entire afternoon.

We had the worst of luck trying to find a place for the seven of us to eat dinner. We attempted seven different restaurants before settling on this Hawaiian themed food court, but when it took over twenty minutes for me to get my shrimp and steak, I thought that was the moment I was going to sit there and die. I was so hungry as it had been nearly ten hours since I’d genuinely last ate anything and I just felt like my time was about up. Then when the food finally came I could only finish about half. I had reached that point of hunger where if I ate anything more I was just going to vomit, so I ended up having to trash half my steak. Sad.

Then there was the poor kids, on the walk back to the hotel following dinner they were all bombarding me with different questions and tidbits about a variety of things, so when Kaell mentioned something about games, I told them my favorite game of all time was The Quiet Game. I told them if we could play it there’d be a WONDERFUL prize for the winner by the end of the trip. The three of them IMMEDIATELY quit talking. I felt bad, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Now I just have to find a prize worthy of the silence that saved me.

The combination of fatigue and hunger proved to be lethal to my picture taking skills and will. I just didn’t have it in me, so I apologize, but be prepared for infinitely better ones that are to come from here on out because after ten hours of rest, I’m Alive! We even saw the sunrise this morning and saw a rainbow! Those pictures turned out great and I cannot wait for you all to see them in my next blog!

Despite this, I truly cannot believe I’m here in Hawaii! This has been my dream destination vacation for as long as I can remember, so being here is quite literally a DREAM COME TRUE for me! A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO OUR AMAZING FRIEND’S KAMBER AND CHARLES FOR MAKING THIS DREAM A REALITY! YOU TWO ARE SIMPLY THE BEST!
