Hawaii Day Two: Exploring the Hale Koa Hotel

ALOHA ALL! Welcome to day two of our Hawaiian vacation! I have truly fallen in love with Honolulu and after this set of photos, I think you’ll fully understand why. Let me just start by saying that thank goodness St. Louis is five hours ahead! It made it SUPER easy for us to get up and take sunrise pictures this morning! Also, Sharon Brown, I’m certain you’ll find plenty you love in this post! I was thinking about your comment on the last blog as we walked around the gardens of our hotel and took several plant and flower photos! It was fantastic as the weather was a wondrous 79ยบ and sunny with a light breeze. It truly is Heaven on Earth here.

Sunrise was at 6:34 a.m.
Some paddleboarders.
I love birds!
Angel of Mine
Somewhere over the Rainbow
I love the shadow of me taking this pic. Made me smile, so I kept the shot.
Average sidewalk downtown Honolulu.

LOVED THESE! They look like hanging flamingos to me!
Same tree from “Hawaii: Day One” that was lit in blue.
The colored lights in the building read, “Aloha.”

Even though I felt like death on day one, I could sense I was going to love it here. Yes, the weather is absolutely perfect, but the people here are THE BEST! EVERYONE IS SO FRIENDLY! Melissa and I were able to get as many couples photos as we did because people would see us taking pictures of one another and walk over to ask if we wanted to get one together. So nice. We had dinner at The Cheesecake Factory this evening and the concierge called me to let me know that he was thrilled to inform me that our wait would actually only be twenty-five minutes versus the hour he had originally told us. I would never have expected that level of service! YES! We ate at The Cheesecake Factory because it is a solid staple of our friendship with Kamber and we’ve had some of our best (and worst) times because of that restaurant, so anytime we’re together, that’s where we go. The people are so hospitable and lovely here and it’s no question why, they’re living in paradise! I’m so happy for them and am so happy to be here!

Again, THANK YOU so much for joining me on this journey even if it’s just through my photographs! I appreciate it greatly! Hope you all enjoyed this day’s worth of pictures! PLEASE feel free to leave me a comment below, you all know I LOVE reading and responding to them! Tomorrow we’re heading to Pearl Harbor and I absolutely cannot wait for what I’m sure will be both a somber and incredible experience. MAHALO!
