Cutesville Connections: Wilson Park Pool

Without a doubt summer is my favorite season and undoubtedly my favorite place to go in the summertime is none other than our very own Wilson Park Pool! I’ve been coming here practically my entire life and I love it every bit as much today as I did when I was a child, maybe lowkey even more now! It’s just simply the best!

I find the Adult Swims to be an absolute blessing. Surprisingly, there are very few people ever at them and because of the fact that there are no children, I have all the time in the world to go up and down the slide over and over like I love to do, it’s honestly wonderful! The deeper portion is made available for lap swimming during this time also, which I also love taking part in between my slidings and by the time the kids arrive, I’ve planted myself firmly back in my lounge chair where I sit for the next hour or so reading my book. I can honestly say, I’ve never had anything but the best time at the Wilson Park Pool and believe this to be a gleaming jewel in the crown of our great city that a great many are missing out on!

As you’ll see from the photos I’ve taken and had taken of me, you’re never too old to have fun, so take a look and then come make your own fun and memories in the best and most affordable pool around, Cutesville’s Wilson Park Pool!

Me and my good friend, Megan, who was the wonderful photographer who captured all the fun-filled photos of me for this post!
There is a special section for infants and toddlers that is always staffed by a lifeguard, so really the pool is perfect for families of all ages!

The Wilson Park Pool opened Memorial Day weekend and will close the day before the Granite City School District begins classes in August. Their hours of operation are from 12:00pm-4:45pm on Mondays and 12:00pm-5:45pm Tuesdays through Sundays. The Adult Swim’s, which are my personal favorites, are 11:00am till noon Monday through Friday with special evening sessions Tuesdays through Thursdays from 5:45pm till 6:45pm and on Saturdays they begin at 10:15 and runs till the pool opens to the public at noon. There is no Adult Swim on Sundays.

Prices for Residents (who must show a Park I.D.) are $6 for Children and Seniors (60+) and $7 for Adults. Non-Resident prices are $9 for Children and Seniors and $10 for Adults. A Pool Saver Punch Card is also available and allows you to get ten admissions for the price of nine! Those are $54 for Resident Children and $63 for Resident Adults and $81 for Resident Children and $90 for Resident Adults. They also feature Season Pool Passes at $88 for Resident Children and Seniors, $132 for Resident Adults, and $215 for Resident Family of 4. The Non-Resident pricing is $110 for Children and Seniors, $145 for Adults, and $275 for a Family of 4.

The Pool Closing Policy for moments such as inclement weather and more can be found at gcparkdistrict.com, where other information detailing the Wilson Park Pool can be found as well.

So what’re you waiting for!?! Get yourself down to the Wilson Park Pool and stay cool all throughout this long hot summer! I promise you’ll have THE BEST time having plenty of fun in the sun!
