One of my absolute favorite places in Cutesville, USA (Granite City, IL) is without a doubt, the Garden Gate Tea Room! I have been a regular patron of this fan favorite establishment ever since I moved back to Cutesville from Southern California back in the summer of 2017! Sadly for myself, I’d never been before then, but I’ve certainly been making up for that lost time now!
The Garden Gate Tea Room is celebrating twenty six years of business this October! WOW! That’s absolutely terrific! Couldn’t be happier that our terrific town has had this wonderfully delicious restaurant now for over a quarter of a century! So come along on a photographic journey of some of my favorite dishes and one of the freshest spaces you’ll ever dine in! Plus, some of THE BEST servers and staff you’ll ever interact with! These ladies are truly second to none!
The Garden Gate Tea Room is a top notch establishment that is easy on the eyes and even easier on one’s hunger! Seriously, as you’re about to see, this place couldn’t be cuter and the food more delicious! Truly second to none!
As someone who absolutely loves gardens and all things botany, I just love the aesthetic in here. It’s so well pieced together and is every bit as whimsical as it is lovely.
When you first enter there’s this cute little sitting room immediately in front of you, don’t skip it. Definitely take a look inside because it’s set up every bit as wonderfully as the rest of the space.
Definitely something for everyone and these prices are honestly terrific! You could seriously eat a good, healthy meal at the Garden Gate Tea Room for less than you can at most fast food places!
Cheers to a guaranteed delicious meal at the Garden Gate Tea Room!
The Chicken Caesar Wrap with the Poppyseed Pasta Salad (which includes almonds and cranberries) as well as a cup of the Corn Chowder. This wrap is a regular go to of mine. It’s the Caesar Salad just all wrapped up! I LOVE it so much! The Corn Chowder was the Soup of the Day and one that I always look forward to them having. It’s definitely a fan favorite here!
The Monte Cristo Sandwich with a cup of the Lobster Bisque. This soup is one of their mainstays and is available everyday. Definitely a fan favorite of mine too! Makes sense it’s one of their signature soups because it is so, so good.
The Cobb Salad, which is a fan favorite of my wife’s! I’m not a Bleu Cheese person, so while this salad isn’t for me, there’s plenty of others that I very much enjoy! Melissa really doubled down on that Blue Cheese and even got the Bleu Cheese Dressing, which is what is in those two metallic cups above her salad. Also pictured here are cups of the Corn Chowder (left) and Lobster Bisque (right).
The Italian Beef Sandwich, which is always super delicious, love that horsey sauce pictured there in the plastic cup! This sandwich was served with a Caesar Salad with the dressing visible there in the metallic cup. As a fan of the Chicken Caesar Wrap, I equally love the Caesar Salad!
The Thai Salad is a newer addition to their menu, but has become an instant fan favorite of mine! It’s got grilled chicken, three different peppers, green onions, peanuts, all over a bed of lettuce with a Thai dressing that is just amazing!
Ham and Cheese Quiche with a Cup of that ever popular Lobster Bisque Soup! I LOVE their Quiche’s! My personal favorite is the Quiche Lorraine, which is Bacon and Onions! Delicious!
LJ and my dear cousin Cortni are in the front, with Melissa and I in the back. You may remember Cortni and I held a joint birthday party last year at The Speakeasy, which is just down the street form the Garden Gate Tea Room. It was a roaring 20’s themed party we coined: twentyFINE.
The red sign reads: Unity Square – Where Route 66 and the Sixty Six books of the Bible meet. Two walls. Two stories, one message of unity, hope, and faith. Step into a space where art connects the open road with an open heart. (Also, peep The District sign’s reflection in the window. Made me happy to be able to capture it in there because I just love that sign!)
Plenty of photographic opportunities lie in Unity Square! These are all along the side of the Garden Gate Tea Room! I think they’re so cute and fun! Plus, all of the artwork is absolutely outstanding!
The other half of Unity Square. The wall of the church that is across the parking lot from the Garden Gate Tea Room. The artwork here is just beautiful.
The Garden Gate Tea Room is located in Granite City, Illinois (Cutesville, USA) at 1410 Niedringhaus Avenue. They’re open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. and Thursdays 11:00 a.m. till 8:00 p.m. and closed Saturday through Monday.
As you can see, the Garden Gate Tea Room is second to none, but this isn’t a solo establishment! They share their space with the Boardgamery, which is another absolutely amazing space that you need to check out if you already haven’t! For $3 you can play unlimited board games and there’s easily a couple hundred to choose from! Plus, there’s the new event space, The Downtown Diner. This repurposed area is ideal to host one’s family or friend gathering in a cute and quaint classic diner type setting. Then there’s Studio C as well, where we once held a Britney Spears themed party, which was one of the best times we’ve ever had! So do yourself a favor and don’t skip out on any of the Block 1400 businesses!
As always, THANK YOU so much for viewing! Please feel free to leave a comment below as I LOVE reading and responding to them! I’ll return soon with another all new post, so until then, I wish you all, all the best!
